About Joanna McKnight

Joanna’s interest in real estate started at a young age by flipping through house plan magazines and books and going to open houses on weekends with her parents. It became almost common practice for them to pick a property, move into and renovate it, then sell it a few years later. With each house, Joanna gained exposure to and understanding of inspecting, purchasing, renovating and staging, marketing, and selling – experience she lends to those in the market. Joanna’s interest in buildings and construction grew as she pursued a master’s degree in Architectural History and Historic Preservation from the University of Virginia. While she worked in the historic preservation field, she maintained an interest in market trends and investment opportunities, and obtained her real estate sales license in Massachusetts and North Carolina prior to moving back to Virginia. She has experience with a range of properties from condo buildings to newly constructed townhouses and single-family houses and can see the potential and opportunities in each. Joanna enjoys working with clients to find the best property for them and their needs. In her spare time, Joanna still enjoys touring properties on the market, photographing buildings and landscapes, and traveling, when possible.
